Major U.S. companies believe the proclamation will harm the economy, as evidenced by the amicus brief filed in a business lawsuit against the June proclamation. The plaintiffs in the case are the National Association of Manufacturers, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Retail Federation, TechNet and Intrax, with Paul Hughes and Michael Kimberly of McDermott Will & Emery as counsel.
