Digital and Communications Manager

As TechNet’s Digital and Communications Manager, you will develop and manage TechNet’s digital communications strategy across all its digital platforms with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time and support TechNet leadership's communications objectives. This position reports to TechNet's Communications Director.
Digital Communications: design and execute a proactive and comprehensive digital messaging strategy. Strong video and graphics editing skills required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: creating graphics and custom videos on a regular basis; identifying new audiences for TechNet to reach online; managing all TechNet digital platforms; maintaining and updating the TechNet website; tracking analytics and creating organic and paid digital campaigns; creating unique graphics, copy, and videos for TechNet President and CEO's social media accounts; offering new, proactive ideas for growing TechNet’s digital presence.
External Communications: Responsible for creating, editing, and executing weekly sendout of Tech at Work and other newsletters in addition to tracking open rates and implementing ways to increase newsletter visibility among stakeholders. Support the creation, editing, and sending of press releases and engage in other media contact as needed by TechNet leadership.
Events and Administrative: Support federal and state policy teams to develop digital content around events such as graphics, videos, hashtags, and any other appropriate materials. Create and update communications sections for membership renewal letters, Executive Council reports, and other correspondence or reports as required.
Previous experience and passion for creating video and graphic content and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator), Final Cut Pro or other comparable tools required. HTML/CSS/website development c knowledge a plus. Strong understanding of the digital media landscape and the latest digital trends and the ability to identify opportunities to reach new audiences online. Existing relationships with digital media outlets and podcasts a plus.
One to three years of experience in digital communications on Capitol Hill, political campaigns, corporations, or trade associations preferred.
Experience in and an understanding of politics, advocacy, and best communications practices, and the ability to quickly learn and implement new communications tools.
Strong strategic planning, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to distill complex messaging into easily understandable and shareable content reflecting TechNet's public policy principles.
The ability to work independently to initiate projects and coordinate with the Communications Director. Work collaboratively with members of TechNet leadership, federal and state policy teams to develop content. Non-traditional work hours are possible during Congressional session, select state legislative sessions, and during tentpole events.
