David Schellhase is the General Counsel at Slack, overseeing the legal and policy functions. Prior to joining Slack, David was COO of an employee feedback startup called Peer that was acquired by Twitter in 2016. Before that, he was general counsel at Groupon for three years and general counsel at salesforce.com for more than eight years, taking both companies public. Earlier in his career he worked at Oracle and CRM pioneer Vantive. He is the author of the Corporate Legal Department Handbook and received his BA in European history from Columbia University and his JD from Cornell Law School.
