Washington, D.C. — TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore made the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling that LGBTQ employees cannot be discriminated against solely on the basis of their sexual orientation.
“TechNet has worked diligently to protect the rights of LGBTQ Americans at the federal and state level because of the harmful impacts discrimination has on our society and economy. At the federal level, our support of the Equality Act in Congress is well-known. In 2019 and 2020 alone, we worked to defeat more than 25 bills at the state level that would further discriminate against LGBT Americans. In 2017, TechNet was proud to lead a coalition against the infamous Texas ‘bathroom bill.’ At TechNet, we believe there is no place for discrimination, and today we are proud to see that the principles we espouse are now the law of the land in workplaces across our nation.”
