Washington, D.C. — TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today named David Edmonson as Vice President, State Policy and Government Relations. Edmonson will lead TechNet’s unparalleled 50-state advocacy efforts. TechNet’s state team leads on a wide range of technology issues, including computer science education, privacy, cybersecurity, tax, energy, broadband expansion, and policies affecting the gig and sharing economies. He most recently served as Acting Vice President and Executive Director for Texas and the Southeast. Edmonson is a state policy veteran who previously led the Austin Tech Alliance and held prominent roles in the Texas State Senate.

Note: Edmonson joined TechNet from the Austin Tech Alliance (ATA), where he served as Executive Director. Prior to that, he held various high-level positions in the office of Texas State Senator Rodney Ellis (D), including Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. Edmonson has also served as General Counsel to Texas State Senator Eliot Shapleigh (D) and as a Law Clerk to then-Attorney General Greg Abbott (R). David received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston.
