Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today issued the following statement, attributable to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore, upon the release of the Biden Administration’s Indo-Pacific economic strategy:

“The U.S. remains a global leader in developing and deploying innovative technologies and must continue to play a critical role in establishing global norms governing policies around digital trade, climate, supply chains, and emerging technologies, as well as counteract attempts by our foreign competitors to distort markets, discriminate against foreign firms, or erect protectionist trade barriers.

“The Indo-Pacific economic strategy announced today will help strengthen our key economic and political alliances in the region, create new opportunities for U.S. businesses and workers, and ensure America remains a leader in technology and innovation in this critical region.”

Last year, TechNet joined 18 other leading organizations, representing a cross-section of the American economy, in a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai calling for the development of digital trade rules in the Indo-Pacific.
