Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today applauded the confirmation of U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai. The following statement can be attributed to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore:

“TechNet applauds the confirmation of Katherine Tai as United States Trade Representative. During her time with the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade, Ms. Tai played an instrumental role in passing the bipartisan United State-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMC). That agreement included strong intellectual property protections and a landmark digital chapter that eliminated digital trade barriers and enhanced trade between our countries.

“As Ms. Tai testified to during her confirmation hearing, trade is critical to strengthening U.S. competitiveness, promoting innovation, and creating opportunity and inclusive prosperity. We look forward to working with the USTR on an ambitious trade agenda that propels economic growth, empowers small businesses, and creates jobs.”
