TechNet Statement on Violent Protests at the U.S. Capitol

Washington, D.C. — TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore made the following statement:

“Yesterday's shocking scenes from our Capitol were a tragic reminder that words matter and actions have consequences.  Elected leaders willfully and recklessly misled American citizens and incited them to commit a violent assault on our democracy that resulted in four deaths and threatened our global standing as a leader for freedom and the rule of law.

We have completed the most scrutinized, recounted, and litigated election in our history.  As a bipartisan organization, TechNet calls on lawmakers of both parties to reaffirm their commitment to our democratic processes and the peaceful transition of power.  Now, more than ever, lawmakers must stand firmly behind President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris to end the pandemic, rebuild our economy, and restore faith in our democracy."
