Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today applauded the decision by President Biden and the Department of Homeland Security to implement the International Entrepreneur Rule, which is designed to encourage entrepreneurs from around the world to grow companies and jobs in the United States. The rule, which was created at the end of the Obama Administration and scheduled to take effect in 2017, was delayed and targeted for removal by the Trump Administration in 2018. The following statement can be attributed to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore:

“Throughout our history, America has welcomed innovators, entrepreneurs, and workers from around the world. Their many contributions have fueled our economic strength. Today, we are in a global race for talent. To ensure the U.S. remains a leader in innovation, we must welcome the world’s best and brightest and put their talent to work for the American economy.

“Startups are disproportionately responsible for the innovations that drive economic growth and job creation. We applaud President Biden and DHS for recognizing this and removing barriers so talented entrepreneurs can come to this country to start and grow their business. The decision to implement the International Entrepreneur Rule is a step forward for American innovation and will help create jobs, grow our economy, and strengthen American global competitiveness.”
