Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today applauded the new actions being taken by the Biden Administration to protect critical U.S. infrastructure from cyberattacks. The following can be attributed to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore:

“Securing intellectual property, safeguarding our economy and critical infrastructure, and protecting American consumers and businesses from cybersecurity risks has never been more important. As data continues to grow in size and value, attacks will become both more common and sophisticated.

“Currently, there are more than 464,000 cybersecurity job openings across the country. We must work to close this talent gap through education, workforce, and immigration policies and initiatives that ensure the U.S. develops, recruits, and retains the world’s best cyber workforce. Cybercrime cost the world economy nearly $1 trillion last year alone. We must incentivize investment in new technologies that prevent these attacks from happening and drive down risks and costs for consumers and businesses alike, regardless of size.

“We applaud President Biden and his administration for taking steps to safeguard our critical infrastructure against cybersecurity threats. We look forward to working with the administration to ensure our data, systems, and networks remain safe, secure, and protected at all times.”
