Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, sent a letter urging Congressional leaders to include the Integrity, Notification, and Fairness in Online Retail Marketplaces for Consumers Act or INFORM Consumers Act, the Improving Digital Identity Act, an increase in the 1099-K tax reporting threshold, and a permanent fix for R&D expensing in the final full-year omnibus spending bill. The following statement can be attributed to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore:

“Including these key, bipartisan priorities in the year-end spending bill will protect consumers, provide relief for entrepreneurs and small businesses, increase R&D, and create jobs. Without them, consumers and businesses willremain vulnerable to bad actors online and millions of Americans trying to make extra income and innovators working to launch the next, great company here in the U.S. will face significant and unnecessary tax burdens.”

“We urge lawmakers from both parties to include the INFORM Consumers Act and the Improving Digital Identify Act, increase the 1099-K tax reporting threshold, and provide a permanent fix for R&D expensing in a final omnibus package, allowing our economy to grow and American innovation to flourish.”
