Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, sent a letter today to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees recommending several key provisions be included in the final National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2024. The following statement can be attributed to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore:

“Passage of the NDAA has never been more important to helping the United States address emerging threats while meeting global challenges with strength and resolve. Technology plays a key role in helping defend our nation, and to achieve our national security objectives, we must maintain our economic strength and secure our position as the global leader in technology.

“The NDAA must include provisions that invest in U.S. research and development capabilities, strengthen our leadership in emerging technologies, like artificial intelligence and quantum computing, bolster our cybersecurity defenses, secure critical supply chains, and enhance the STEM talent pipeline through updated education, workforce development, and high-skilled immigration policies. The NDAA should also avoid any policies that would hurt our ability to win the next era of innovation.”

“The annual bipartisan passage of the NDAA is critical to the American economy and our national security, and we hope Congress will work together to ensure that this year is no different.”
