Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today issued the following statement, attributable to Linda Moore, TechNet President and CEO, following the Senate parliamentarian’s ruling on immigration reform through reconciliation:
“Immigrants are vital to our country’s economic growth and prosperity. According to estimates, DACA recipients, for example, would contribute an additional $14 billion to the U.S. economy each year if granted citizenship. Continued inaction on comprehensive immigration reform is disrupting our workforce and jeopardizing the economy.
“Given the clear correlation between immigration and economic growth, we remain hopeful that there will be additional opportunities throughout the reconciliation process to ensure the final package includes immigration provisions that provide certainty for Dreamers and long-overdue reforms for high-skilled workers.”
