Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, issued the following statement, attributed to TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore, on the virtual summit between President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping:
“We applaud President Biden and President Xi for working to improve relations between our two countries and hope progress continues to be made on key issues impacting the global innovation economy, including trade and climate change.
“Eliminating costly tariffs put in place by the previous administration will immediately create new opportunities for U.S. workers, help businesses compete both domestically and globally, and strengthen our economy. The ambitious commitments both countries recently made to combat climate change are important and necessary in building a more sustainable future for our planet.
“This summit was a positive first step in building a better relationship between our countries. We urge both leaders to continue working together to solve the shared challenges facing our nations.”
