Intuit Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary, Kerry McLean, Named Vice Chair; and Mamoon Hamid, Partner at Kleiner Perkins, Joins TechNet’s Executive Council
Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today announced that Aparna Bawa, Zoom’s Chief Operating Officer, has been named Chair of TechNet for 2025-26. In addition, Kerry McLean, Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Intuit, has been named Vice Chair. Both will serve for two years. Bawa and McLean were elected by TechNet’s Executive Council.
Bawa replaces Ed Knight, Executive Vice Chairman of Nasdaq, who has been TechNet’s Chairman since 2023. Knight will remain on TechNet’s Executive Council, where he has served since 2016. Bawa joined TechNet’s Executive Council in 2021, most recently serving as Vice Chair.
Mamoon Hamid, Partner of Kleiner Perkins, will also join TechNet’s Executive Council for a two-year term.

Aparna Bawa serves as Zoom’s Chief Operating Officer, responsible for oversight of the people experience, government relations, security, privacy, compliance, trust and safety, and legal functions. She has also served as Zoom’s Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, and Secretary. Prior to Zoom, Bawa served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Magento Inc., an e-commerce platform company, until its acquisition by Adobe Inc., and Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of Nimble Storage Inc., which was acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise. She also led the legal and corporate development functions for Inphi Corp.
Early in her career, Bawa was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank, where she executed multiple equity and debt financing transactions for technology clients. She also practiced law as a corporate and securities attorney for Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Bawa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Marquette University and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
Kerry McLean leads Intuit’s legal, global corporate affairs, privacy and compliance teams as they work to support Intuit’s mission of powering prosperity around the world.
Kerry joined Intuit in 2006, most recently serving as Deputy General Counsel. Prior to joining Intuit, Kerry spent over six years at Wind River Systems, Inc., most recently as the Director of Legal. She also worked as an associate at Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Rabkin PC (now Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP). Kerry serves on the boards of the California Minority Counsel Program supporting its mission to promote diversity in the legal profession, and the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley working to advance the rights of under-represented individuals through legal services and outreach. She is also a member of the Executive Council of TechNet, a national bipartisan network of technology CEOs and senior executives promoting growth of the innovation economy.
Kerry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from University of California, Davis and a Juris Doctor from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco.
Mamoon Hamid is a Partner at Kleiner Perkins. He has been an early investor in and served on the boards of some of the most innovative software companies of recent times including Slack, Figma, Box, and Rippling. Prior to joining Kleiner Perkins, Mamoon was a co-founder of Social Capital. He started his venture career in 2005 at U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), where he eventually became Partner. Mamoon came to Silicon Valley in 1997 to join Xilinx, a Kleiner Perkins company, where he spent six years, initially as an engineer and later in product and marketing roles.
Mamoon was born in Pakistan and spent most of his life through high school in Frankfurt, Germany. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University. He also has a Master of Science from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
