Washington, D.C. – TechNet, the national bipartisan network of economy CEOs and senior executives, today applauded the passage of the American Dream and Promise Act of 2021 in the U.S. House of Representatives. The following statement can be attributed to Linda Moore, TechNet President andCEO:

“Immigrants, including Dreamers, are an important and valued part of our economy and our workforce. These young men and women arrived in the U.S. through no fault of their own and are actively contributing to society. They’re pursuing or have pursued advanced degrees, they’re members of the military, and they’re essential workers helping in the battle against COVID-19. More than 70 percent of Dreamers working are employed by a Fortune 500 company. Each year, Dreamers contribute more than $42 billion to the GDP in this country.

“Continued inaction on immigration reform, especially with respect to the Dreamers, is disrupting our workforce and jeopardizing economic growth. The American Dream and Promise Act will provide the much-needed certainty for these individuals and the businesses that employ them. We applaud the House for passing this bill and urge the Senate to do the same.”
