Washington,
D.C.
— TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation
economy CEOs and senior executives, today responded to Rep. Dave Reichert’s
(R-WA) announcement that he will retire at the end of the 115th Congress. The following statement can be attributed to Linda
Moore, President and CEO of TechNet:

“For
over a decade, Sheriff Reichert has brought an invaluable perspective to the
halls of Congress. When he retires at
the end of 2018, Congress will miss his leadership and his deep understanding
of a wide range of issues.

“Sheriff
Reichert is an accomplished law enforcement professional who has demonstrated economic
sense, courage, and the compassion to tackle the difficult issue of
immigration. When he works on trade
issues, he brings a keen understanding of the economic benefits of opening
markets for both the innovators he represents in one of the world’s premier
innovation hubs, as well as his district’s farmers.

“As
he serves out the rest of his term, we look forward to working with him on
finishing strong and further adding to his legacy by achieving tax reform,
trade modernization, and providing permanent relief to Dreamers.”
