Washington, D.C. — TechNet president and CEO Linda Moore today issued the following statement on bilateral trade negotiations between the United States and the United Kingdom:

“TechNet is pleased that the United States and United Kingdom are beginning formal trade talks to create even stronger ties between our economies. We should ensure the agreement promotes innovation, creates jobs, and provides more choices for consumers in both of our countries. Technology is essential to both of our economies, and the agreement should also adopt the same strong gold standard on digital trade rules that the U.S. deals with Japan and Mexico and Canada have established. We look forward to seeing progress in these negotiations and welcome today’s first steps.”
